As the plastics expert and research partner, Norner will contribute with industrially relevant facilities and expertise in polymer recycling, processing, characterization and testing.

BRISA stands for:  Breakthrough Research on Industrial Safety against Airborne carcinogens and emerging pollutants.

Plastics recycling pilot

Norner leads the plastics recycling pilot, focusing on stabilisation packages and devolatilisation strategies that can reduce hazardous volatile emissions from recycled plastics.

Value-chain validation

The work covers emissions across the value chain, from waste handling and recycling operations to polymer processing and end-use applications.

Film application support

Norner will also support the modified feldspar pilot by validating the performance of developed solutions in plastic film applications.

Norner’s primary contribution to BRISA is as a material and process development and validation partner for plastics technology.

Project team

From Norner the project is led by Carlos Barreto and Hany Anwar supported by a multidisciplinary team with important roles throughout the project: Bavan Mylvaganam, Tina Kristiansen and Morten Svendsen.

The project is scheduled from August 2026- August 2030.
